Why I created Neuromart
This article is different from the others.
It's not a guide or an explanation of concepts.
It's my story.
And if you're here, it might be a little bit yours too.
The diagnosis that changed everything
I received my neurodivergence diagnosis in adulthood.
Like many people — especially women — I spent decades not understanding why certain things were harder for me than for others.
Why environments that were normal for others exhausted me so much.
Why organizing was a constant struggle, even when I put in all my effort.
My psychologist, Rocío Fornell, was key in this process.
It was she who encouraged me to get tested, who guided me on where to go, and who has accompanied me before, during, and after the diagnosis.
Understanding what was happening to me didn't solve everything.
But it did change something fundamental: it stopped being a matter of "lack of effort" and became a matter of understanding.
The search that led me to create Neuromart
After the diagnosis, I started seeing something that previously had no name.
Without realizing it, I had been surrounding myself for years with tools that helped me function better:
earplugs, noise-canceling headphones, comfortable clothes, blackout curtains, eye masks…
They weren't whims.
They were supports.
Products that genuinely made daily life easier — not generic solutions designed for neurotypical brains.
And then I realized something else: finding them had been difficult.
The information was scattered.
It took time, energy, and a lot of trial and error to find what really worked.
I thought about how much it would help to have a place to find all of that without having to start from scratch.
That's how Neuromart was born.
What Neuromart aims to be
Neuromart was born with a simple idea:
to gather in one place the products that took me a long time to find.
Carefully selected products.
From real experience.
Designed so that whoever comes here finds what they need without having to search for hours.
We are not a gadget store.
We don't follow trends.
We are a store specializing in the well-being of neurodivergent people — adults, children, and families — with all that entails.
The values that guide every decision
- Personal experience is the best filter: if I wouldn't use it, I don't sell it.
- The neurodivergent community deserves its own space: we are not a category within another store.
- Transparency is essential: we share what we know and also what we are still learning.
The influence of my professional life
Creating Neuromart was not an impulsive decision.
For over 15 years I worked in marketing. I had the necessary knowledge to build this project, but there was something deeper behind it.
Throughout my career, I felt like I didn't fit into the corporate world.
No matter how much I worked or the results I achieved:
promotions always went to other people.
The feedback was repetitive:
"your communication is too direct,"
"you need to put yourself more in others' shoes,"
"you should question decisions less."
But what was actually happening was that I saw things differently.
And I wasn't always willing to accept decisions I considered unfair or inconsistent.
Over time, I understood that the problem wasn't my ability.
It was the environment.
And that led me to make a decision: to create something of my own.
A project that made sense.
That would provide something real to other neurodivergent people.
I don't know how far Neuromart will go.
But I do know something important: I built it from scratch.
I made every decision, chose every product, every supplier.
I created this website and this blog without help.
And that, in itself, already has value.
To you, who are here
If you've come to Neuromart, you're probably looking for something.
For yourself.
Or for someone you love.
I hope you find it here.
And if we don't have it yet, let me know.
Because this store also grows thanks to its community.
Thank you for being here. 🌊

P.S.: The waves in the logo are not there by chance. I'm from a seaside city, and the sound of the waves has always been my refuge in moments of stress or anxiety. In a way, Neuromart also comes from that: the search for calm amidst the noise. 🌊
